Wooden surfaces may be finished in shades from blond to ebony, but any color may turn white from heat or dampness. White marks can often be removed using, ironically, more heat, or ammonia. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
Heat
- 1
Turn the iron on to a warm temperature setting.
2Place the fabric over the white area on the table.
3Press with the iron. Do not touch the surface of the iron on the furniture without the fabric.
4Polish with furniture wax once you are certain you have removed the white spots.
Ammonia
- 5
Mix 2 parts ammonia and one part water in a small bowl.
6Wet a cloth or washcloth with the ammonia mix.
7Rub lightly over the white spot with the cloth. Work in the direction of the grain of the wood.
8Polish with furniture wax when the white spots disappear.
