Some colors are considered neutral and will go with almost any furniture and accessories. These colors include grays, whites, browns and blues. If your foyer is small, you may choose to use white or another light neutral color to open the space up. Painting the walls and ceiling neutral can make a small space feel much larger.

Neutrals can be mixed together to create a soft and inviting room. Shades of blue, brown and white can be brought together for a very modern feel. Other combinations like black, gray and green can feel very modern; while whites, browns and golds can feel more traditional.

Triads of colors or colors that are equidistant from each other on the color wheel often go well together as well. An example of this could be purple, green and orange. Finally, colors that are next to each other on the color wheel also go well together. These colors are called analogous colors. These colors could be a combination of yellow, green and orange or varying shades of red.
