How to Make a DIY Table Saw Outfeed Stand

Measure a 4-inch by 4-inch piece of plywood and cut it. Measure and cut a 16-inch by 16-inch piece of plywood as well.

Cut the 4-inch by 4-inch piece of plywood in half from corner to corner; use a chalk line to ensure a straight cut. Mark out slots the same thickness as the plywood in both triangles at the top peak on one piece and in the center bottom of the other piece. Make the marks halfway into the triangle; cut out these slots. To form a base, take these two pieces of plywood and put them together to create an "x" with a peak at the top.

Measure a 2 by 4 board to the height of your table saw, and minus 3 1/2 inches from it. Cut the board with a saw; this is the post to which you will nail your "x"-shaped plywood base. If you want to make the "x" base sturdier, you can add 12 to 16-inch vertical blocks to each side of the base and nail it.; use 6 to 8 "penny nails" so you don't split the blocks.

Cut another 2 by 4 board to the width of the stand. Cut the 16-inch by 16-inch piece of plywood in half using a corner to corner cut; use this bracing to connect the top 2 ny 4 board to the your 2 by 4 post. Nail the plywood triangle with the peaks facing down and so that only three inches stick up past the post. Next, put the 2 by 4 board in between the 3-inch lips which are sticking out from the post; nail it center to the post. Nail everything together using 6 to 8 "penny" nails.

Cut a slight angle in the top 2 by 4 board so that it will be easier to slide the lumber over the stand. Construct multiple stands if needed.
