Rental Hall Decorating Ideas

Rental Hall Decorating Ideas

Don't let the monotone interior of a lackluster rental hall make your next gathering a bore. Decorating the rental hall should top the "to-do" list when planning an anniversary party, wedding reception or other social gathering. By adding colorful tablecloths, hiding unsightly walls and adding floral decor, a rental hall becomes cozy and inviting.

Walls

Cover the walls with draped fabric. Rental companies offer creative ways to swag fabric and cover walls in need of repair. Colorful swags also conceal walls that simply don't match the color theme of the event. For smaller wall areas with blemishes, erect a decorative folding screen or arch.

Ceilings

Sheer tulle fabric draped across ceiling tiles adds a finished look to the room. Rope lights layered in the fabric adds a subdued, romantic ambiance to the rental hall. When the fabric swag droops low it adds texture to a tall ceiling, but when pulled taut the fabric can disguise a ceiling with water stains or peeling paint.

Staircases

Indoor and outdoor staircases look beautiful when embellished with garland, ribbons or simple bouquets. For a winter gathering, wrap evergreen garland around the handrail of the staircase. In the fall, large pumpkins placed at the edges of the last steps reminds guests of the season. In the summer or spring, attach small bouquets of flowers tied with soft, flowing ribbons at each end of the staircase handrail.

Foyers

Many rental halls have foyers and entryways with plain seating and empty tables. Converting this area into a cozy extension of the main gathering area requires accessorizing the foyer. A vase full of color- coordinating flowers will complement the table linens and define the look of the main reception room. Placing matching pillows on the seating provides additional comfort for guests and adds color to the foyer.

Tables

In addition to tablecloths, accent tables in the rental hall with centerpieces. From floral displays to candles or still-life arrangements, centerpieces exemplify a theme and add personality to the room. Coordinating chair covers add a simple elegance and finish the look of the overall table setting.

Restrooms

Nearly every guest will visit the restroom during an event held in a rental hall. Personalizing this space with a few decorations shows courtesy to the guests. Vases of flowers placed on the restroom vanities and discreet air fresheners hidden behind the commodes transforms the restroom into a pleasant space. For day-long gathering in the rental hall, place a basket of common toiletries in the restroom. Include sample sizes of lotion, breath mints, feminine products and lightly scented body sprays.
