How to Build a Portable Concession Stand

How to Build a Portable Concession Stand

If you've always wanted to have a concession stand, but didn't have enough money for a permanent set-up, you can construct a portable stand. With just a few basic supplies and craftiness, you can have your concession stand up and running at the local park or school in no time at all.

Instructions

    1

Find out if the school or location you will be setting up your concession stand will require a permit for profit or fundraiser. Obtain all necessary paperwork or approvals.

    2

Purchase a folding canopy tent that is easy to build and break down. It will need to be built for all kinds of weather and conditions. Look for one that is colorful and has flat panels you can hang signs on.

    3

Purchase a folding table that is a little smaller then the canopy tent. The table, products and staff should fit comfortably under the tent. The table should be stable, strong and break down easily to a manageable size. Purchase a calculator and locking money box for your cash register.

    4

Paint signs with poster board and poster paint advertising the products your concession stand sells. Hang advertising signs along the folding table and from the edges of the canopy tent.

    5

Make a large sign to hang from the front of the tent or table that lists every item and its price. Make it clear and readable from a distance. Indicate if there are any deals or price breaks to help the customers make a choice.

    6

Line up your inventory so people can pick their items and buy what they want. Place your calculator and money box behind the table where you can easily get to it and see it at all times.
